Lee Zii Jia is the face of Victor’s latest apparel design, and the shuttler delivered a message that may extend beyond his fashion choice.
“It’s never about fitting in in or pleasing the crowd. It’s about showing who I really am, my soul,” said Lee in the video of him modeling various outfits from his main sponsor, from streetwear to winter clothing.
The 28-year-old also modeled Victor’s fall and winter collection with former Chinese mixed doubles great Huang Ya Qiong.
Lee’s message in the video seem to resonate with his recent social media posting where he spoke at length about surrounding himself with the right people, standing up for himself and not giving up on his career.
On court, he has shown improvement by reaching the Canada Open semi-finals last month.
Currently 54 on the world rankings, Lee is still some way off competing in top-tier events.
His recent performance indicates he is comfortable working his way up the ranking ladder by playing in lower-tier events such as the Canada Open.
Next up for the men’s singles star is the Taipei Open next week, followed by the Korea Masters (Aug 4-9).
